‘Olen niin janoinen, etta tarvitsen drinkin’. I must confess that I know very little about your wonderful country other than your folk-tales contain Gothic elements and at times explicit details, all I really know is the Teemu Pukki plays football for my local team. But it appears that in this North Star Tavern that no-one would ever go hungry or thirsty. Such a wonderful spread, fit for a feast. I must read more about Finnic mythology, after a few refreshing Sahti Ales, can we get down to a bit of traditional poem-singing? Like the song about the bear who had a mead-paw? Or the old man Otso with his wrinkled face and brow? Maybe that haunting ballad of the golden apple in the forest? Finally my last choice the brave shaman who entered Tuonela. Happy Yule to you all, if you find me annoying I will gladly go and sit in the corner.

Happy New Year Pohjantahti & Eyvisl, it’s been great to be with you in 2019, renewing our Ancient World friendships, and I look forward to 2020 with good heart, and thank you Poh for the triple Sahti, much appreciated.
I will be drinking Old Fashioned Porter, from our local ex-monastic brewery of St. James to wish the New Year in with my Gothic bride Dervla, toasting you both at midnight and singing Auld Lang Syne. Well- wishing and blessings from this side of the Atlantic pond.

You again?” It was Eyvisl back from afar, finally. “You do realize that you owe for your last tab?” He laughed and introduced me to his attendant. “This is Talon, I have known him since he was born.” I recognized him, he travels far in the warm months. I knew that this would be a brief party, Eyvisl never stays for long. “Can I offer you some Sahti?”
Oh it is about damned time I got back here. Pretty sure that I’m getting a bad Yelp review if any of you have been waiting several months for a drink or plate. *rolls eyes*
