Anachronous History Forums is an online community for us who love ancient history, & each other’s company. How do we make this work? How do we get more members? How do we pay for the $260/year without alienating potential new members or existing members? Herein lies our challenge. Please participate in these discussions, we welcome all input!

The “breadcrumbs” are back!!! With over 300 topics, 260+ (WP) forums, 30 (static html) pages & thousands of replies, it is hard to navigate sometimes! Now we have the hover nav in the header, the Orthographic globe-links on Main forum & FINALLY the “breadcrumbs” are back! Look up, below the header & you’ll see the nested mini-links showing every forum “above” in the forum nav structure. #anachronous #ahf #history

Hey @poh, I just fixed the weird Main forum breadcrumb. It doesn’t go to that all-forums list anymore. I too am SUPER pumped about the breadcrumbs! On a WP site w/ this massive a forum structure, it’s needed!

@ziyi @nebibit I TOTALLY agree! We are not, as I mistakenly posted, a full (Mastodon) “instance” but are a Fediverse server though! This is a HUGE development for AHF our posts now show on Masotodon and all the rest of the Fediverse to be seen by millions. Amazing! #anachronous

How is it that we here at little ol’ #anachronous History Forums are now a part of the fediverse network w/ Mastodon etc.?? This is AMAZING. I went to a Masto instance & saw all of our recent posts being shown to hundreds of thousands of people around the world! #ahf (Anachronous History Forums) @brannigan it was BRILLIANT that you got us here. Wow!

So, I would like to open a discussion amongst all members. We have struggled to find ways to reach out to potential new members since our inception. At times when it seemed like AW would never come back, we encouraged members to find Old AW/AS friends to invite them. Now that it seems that AW appears to someday rise from the ashes yet again, that’s not really appropriate as we would like to support their endeavor… unless one has a personal rapport with that person. Our official stance from here on out is that it would be inappropriate to try to poach members from other sites like ours, unless you have a very personal rapport with that individual. Please post your thoughts and opinions by replying to the topic.
